My degree is an Honours award, are the robes different?

My qualification is not listed!
Please re-check the options. If your qualification is not recorded, please e-mail, phone or fax with the full course title and we will guide you. However, for academic robing purposes the actual degree determines the robes worn i.e. B.A. M.Sc etc. the area of study within that degree does not affect the style of robe.

What is a Gown?
A black robe, worn just below the knees. The same style is used for Diplomas/Certificates, Bachelors and Undergraduates Masters. A slightly different style is used for Post Graduate Masters. The Ph.D. Gown is usually coloured with trimmings, see photograph on website.

What is a Hood?
This robe is worn above the gown and over the shoulders. It is unique to your Institution and qualification.

What is a Hat?
A black mortarboard with a black tassel is worn by all recipients except Ph.Ds. A black bonnet with a cord and tassel is worn by Ph.Ds. The tassel should be worn on your left.

Should your size not be recorded, or you need special consideration as a disabled student, please e-mail/phone/fax and we will do our very best to accommodate your requirements.
